The Queen and the Gardener by Bill Sewers & Inna Schiano
--Review by Gayle Schreiber
"In a land where the golden sun rises and the silver moon shines," lives a selfish and very mean Queen. She cares only for herself and pays no attention to anyone.
However, she is about to get her comeuppance when the Fool meets the Gardener who has been punished with thirty lashes every day by the Queen's command.
The Baker's wife, a kind hard-working woman, is a dead-ringer for the Queen. Together, the Gardener and the Fool manage a switch with a moral that only a good fairytale can provide.
With illustrations by Helena Sadovnikova.

--Review by Gayle Schreiber
David Morton, head of the Mosad, tracks the sale of Anthrax B-C through the middle east. He warns his superiors of the danger that lies in wait but they demand proof before they will make any move.
Then, while David talks to his parents, who are on vacation in London, on the telephone he hears three incredible explosions. Explosions that rip through three major hotels killing thousands of people including his parents. This is only a warning.
In South Africa a beautiful young woman carries a small vial of "perfume" into a village of five thousand white inhabitants. She is to release the perfume as a second warning but a young thief breaks into her room and steals her belongings...You'll have to read the book to see what happens.
Point of interest: a copy of Deadly Perfume was found in the headquarters of Shako Asahara, the group that released poison gas into the Japanese subway.
BOOK REVIEW

One of the best books I have read, and I'm not through yet, has everything. It has mystery, love, hate, passion, lust, intrigue, every accolade possible. Some people say it is a fairytale, some say it is a PR job; if it is I would like to meet the author and have him do a sequel. It has been a Best Seller for years, never goes out of style, always pertinent. I had an Aunt who had read it cover to cover three times. To the nonbelievers I say, "If it is a PR job it has sure outlasted all others even Campbell's Soup, Ivory Soap, Carter's Little Liver Pills and Oatmeal. It is a feast for the hungry, a cleansing for the sullied and a never-ending joy. You don't have to like it or believe it if that is your desire, but read it anyway. It's the Bible...
